Margaret Thiele & Dot Griffith
Peg Schroeder and Dot Griffith founded Giving at Potlucks in Avery County in 2019. Peg is now active in the New Hanover County GAPs chapter in Wilmington, NC and, Dot continues to lead the Avery County chapter, along with Margaret Thiele.
Margaret Thiele has lived in Avery County since 2015 and was an original member of the Avery GAPs. Margaret lives with her husband and two children on their homestead farm raising a menagerie of animals. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with the family, playing golf and reading.
When one of the co-founders, Peg Schroeder moved, Dot asked Margaret to help lead the charge and she happily agreed. Margaret strongly believes in giving back to the community and in the power of female friendships. What better way to foster both than over a shared meal at GAPs!
